Who do you admire most in your life and why?
Oh Gods, who do I admire most… This is a tough one…. I guess it can be taken to ways too. Public figures known by all, or a individual in my life. I guess I can take a bash at both…
For a individual in my life, Honestly I have to say Russel (Rhymin’ Greiman). He is always there for his friends. I had a pretty rough senior year, and whenever I needed someone to vent, or cry to, he was there. This guy is honest, dedicated, and generally the most decent human being I know… (well except when it comes to our whiteboards) Really I have to say he is one of my closest friends. But if you wanna go deeper, compare him to the trouble his siblings get into, he isn’t into the booze and drugs. And he has damnamimit good reason not to be. He is making the best of his life, through all odds, and has dreams. By sharing his dreams and inspirations, it gives me the strength to go on. Not to mention considering we talk what everyday? I guess the only person I talk to more than him is Michael. (Now Russel you better be nice to me on here, I know where you live.)
For a public figure… Hmmm. I am going to have to go with Oprah. She was raised poorer than dirt poor and raped. She has made her mark for black women, and women in general and has become such an inspiration to so many. I guess most young people see her only as another talk show host, but the woman is so much more than that… But really she could share some of that money with me for endorsing her.

BE HONEST: Did you think I was a girl or a guy the first time you saw my posts?
Honestly, I thought you were a girl. The avatar automatically brings one to that conclusion. And unlike a lot of the other people, you (recently) haven’t made any gender defining marks. Like some of the guys flirt or whatever. I don’t know if you have in the past, and that was just before I joined. But I never wanted to define you are a boy or girl because I wasn’t sure. I would suggest putting it in on your profile. I guess some may think that you are a girl because you don’t go around with this arrogance that since you have a rod hanging between your legs that you are superior. To be honest, you really don’t act in any way that can stereotype a typical teen guy or girl…

Do you believe Closet Narcisism exists?
I guess to properly answer this question; we need to define what Narcissism is. I had a vague idea, but I looked it up anyways. Webster has the following deniniations for Narcissism:
1. Excessive love or admiration of oneself. See Synonyms at conceit.
2. A psychological condition characterized by self-preoccupation, lack of empathy, and unconscious deficits in self-esteem.
3. Erotic pleasure derived from contemplation or admiration of one's own body or self, especially as a fixation on or a regression to an infantile stage of development.
4. The attribute of the human psyche characterized by admiration of oneself but within normal limits.
By this definition, I would have to say, no that Closet Narcissism could not exist, but I think to an extent it could be possible. For example, if you go by definition number 3. A person could be a afraid to admit this to their peers. It is much like homosexuality. One is afraid of the judgment that may follow such an open confession. However, for the other definitions, I believe that the condition would eventually control them in many ways. Narcissism can be considered a mental condition, and one should seek therapy, because really, after so long of not treating it, your life would be pointless. Your friends would no longer be your friends. Your co-workers will no longer appreciate you as a “team member”. But I also should point out that self-centeredness can be mistaken for Narcissism, and vice versa… Either way, it’s not great to be completely full of yourself, and I think it would be really hard to hide in a closet.
Might I also point out on a side note. I had to fix the word “characterized”. Webster misspelled it…. The word was missing an e between the t and r Proof that the dictionary isn’t perfect either.

No we are not dating. We’ve known each other for 3ish years now. We worked together at the amusement park, and became pretty good friends. I don’t think I would want to take our friendship beyond what it is, because I wouldn’t want to lose him as a friend. He is more important to me than that. Most the time when you break up with someone, it’s really hard to go back to what you were before… I have never thought of him in a sexual way… I guess it’s like your sister. Would you think of her sexually? I would hope not!

Ohh that’s a tough one… I love my son so much. I guess I would be caught, because money would ensure all his dreams can come true, and I would be able to make it up to him… Being a single parent is also a consideration. I am more important to him than his daddy. Now if the deal was I only had to miss his first birthday party, then yes I would go for it. But I would not be willing to miss all of his birthday parties. And really I could live forever on 5 million dollars.

Yes you have started out easy.... Prolly so you can look back and copy all my questions... well the ones that would fit the situation of me being a girl...
1. I would definately have to say PINK... I'm not really a girlie girl, but I like the color pink.
2. Movies... hmm, I have a hard time picking a favorite. I guess out of what I own I watch Bad Boys II the most. Now with types of movies, I like a good thriller or scary story.
3. I don't play any sports... Actually I don't watch many either... If I am actually at the location, I like watching basketball, baseball, I love local races.
4. This is like the movies... Right now I am into Kelly Clarkson, Alicia Keys, and of course the hottie, Nelly... I absolutely love the song with Tim McGraw. But I like alot of different types of music. I listen to pop, rop-rock, a little rock, 80's rock :P, country, a little rap, R&B...
5. Most rebellious... Well I can say when I lost my virginity. Ma didn't find out until 2 years later. I kinda did it partially to spite her. I did care (and still do) about the guy, so it wasn't a total loss. I was a drinker too. Other than my yearly skinny dipping trip, I guess I am just not very wild... Sorry.
I have to admit, I was a bit hesitant when I saw that you replied, considering I asked you ALOT of ???s... Oh well, ask on...

I'd be lying if I said I NEVER thought about it but we have talked briefly about the dating subject before (if I remember correctly, it was over text messages after work). Every girlfriend I've ever had that I eventually broke up with (or vice versa) has faded away out of my life. Holly has been one of my closest female friends for a long time and I would really like to be her friend and "brother" for as long as I live. I'm not about to say that anything's impossible.
Anyways, onto the questions (even though I know quite a bit already).
1.) If you were granted the ability to clear your mind of one memory forever, what would it be?
2.) Not counting me, who is your favorite user on AllForums?
and finally 3.) You have to live on a deserted island for 3 years. Which 3 items would you bring with you? (I can guess maybe 2 right off the top of my head)

I guess I would want to change the weather. I hate snow... I know the ground needs it and everything to prepare for the summer growing season, but really, can't it just rain all winter and be like 50 degrees and not be a frozen hell? What wouldn't I change, well I wouldn't change the small schools. I believe in small schools because the way the teachers teach and can interact with the kids is much better. I've gone to big and small schools, and I saw how kids fall through the cracks... In a small school, issues like child abuse, crime, learning difficulties can be seen easier, and can be addressed

1. Only one... I guess if I had to choose only one, which took some real consideration, I would have to pick the day my grandmother died. She had cancer, and it was too far advanced for threatment. My grandmother and I were very close. Her room had a family type room attatched to it. I refused to go in and see her that last day. I remember my mom calling my uncle and telling him that the doctors said she wouldn't make it another day. For some reason I still believed God would save her. I knew what cancer was. I saw it take other family, and I read books all about it before she was diagnosed. But in my little eleven year old mind, I still firmly believed that God would not take her from me. I was lying in the family room in a chair. I could hear her lungs clicking, struggling for air, through the closed door. When they stopped, exactly at 5am, I knew that God was cruel, and my whole world collapsed. For the entire time she was sick I had refused to admit to myself that she was dying. She knew it, but refused to allow anyone to sit down and force reality into me. There are alot of other memories I wish I could erase, but in the long run, they teach me many things, and erasing them would erase part of who I am today.
2. Who said you were my favorite user? Getting a little full of ourselves are we?....ok I confess, yes you come first. Right now I really haven't chosen a real favorite. I like Silver... He is pretty soft spoken, and doesn't pick fights. Plus he is another I-o-wayne-ian(as my stepmother pronounces it) After reading alot of Decka's replies, I say he is a close third.
3. Three items for three years.... So much for the phone to call a boat to help me... I would bring another person. Then a kitchen in a box so I can cook what I find to eat. Then I would say a camping kit(tent, sleeping bags). I bet you thought I would say cell phone and my laptop. I would except both need to be charged. My cellphone can last about a day when I call people, my computer lasts about 2 hours. I would have to bring chargers, and where do you plug them in????

So to be fair the only reason you two arnt dating is because if it ever went wrong it would be impossible to return to the close freinds thing?
No there is alot more to it than that. It is asking alot for a young guy to hook up with a girl with a baby. It takes alot of understanding. Not that I am saying that he isn't, because he is what holds me together with all the problems I am going through with Michael's dad. Also a huge factor right now is my son's father. I still have many many feelings for him, and whenever I attempt to move on he always ends up saying something that just totally destroys whatever feelings I have for the other person.Plus I have been abused emotionally, and physically, and before I can go into a serious relationship with anybody, I need to finish sorting these issues out. Yeah it would be nice to be dating someone, but I need to get everything in a line first. Also, I don't think I want a serious relationship right now. And as much as I care about him already, it would be hard not to cross that line. I'm not ready to have my heart broken again, and losing him as a friend or significant other, just in any way would prolly do that. I guess it wouldn't be too different, we already talk everyday, but there is much more than that. I just don't think I have even thought about the issue lately. I did have a huge crush on him when I first met him, but so did our other friend Beth. She was just braver and admitted it first. Plus that year I ended up into some trouble, and it distracted me away from that crush. And now I am still trying to get over David. Which I guess in truth may never really happen... Its basically a thin line, and I don't think I am brave enough to even bring up the idea of crossing it. Besides, I have this thing where I am not the one to ask the other one out... I guess I prefer being asked.
Russel, this is what happens when you vote for me!!! I guess we both got backed into this corner...

But if you can count this, I got into a fight with a cop in front of about 6 other cops. My friend was being beaten up half a block away, and all of them just watched him walk right into the group of kids who were doing it. I was so mad I was shaking.... I would have to say getting off of the plane in NYC when my choir went to perform at Carnegie Hall. It was just amazing to finally be there after we put in soooo much work. I guess the funniest moment there was when Jenni and I fell asleep on a bench at Ellis Island together. We were so pumped to go on the Ferry, but by time we got done with the Statue, our exaustion levels went bazerk and we zonked out. But the Army guys on the ferry were soooo HOT. I never liked them but they had one catchy song and go figure it was their last. I just didn't really like their style and they always had to be loud and proud, that was pretty annoying.
The song of theirs I liked was "Goodbye", it didn't sound like their goody goody songs they tried singing early in their careers.

1. Titanic, its long and has lots of extra crap in the dvd version. I laughed when he died. It only took 3 hours... Not a huge fan or Leo here.
2.Monopoly. We can also divi up the money and buy /trade real items like food, the sleeping bag, and still play with the money we gained through the trades. And you can make up strange island rules, like if you land on go to jail, you have to run around naked for the day...
3. Hamburger patties. I'll keep them cold by putting them in baggies and putting them in the river. Then cook them with my kitchen in a box set....
4. Grease Sound track... Cheesy I know, but alot of songs, always uplifting, and enough to drive my island mate nuts.

Casey's General Store (NOT, in any way affiliated with, or owned by Borg), Kum & Go (we get a lot of jokes about that one), Ampride, etc. are gas stations throughout Iowa and only Iowa(though there are a few of those in eastern Nebraska, and I've never heard of One Stop). Sort of like what BP, Shell, and Conoco are to the national circuit. We have a K&G in our town, used to have a Caseys, but don't anymore.

1. Have you ever stolen money from someone in your family? Be honest now!!!
2. Have you ever had any sexual experiences that you regret, and why did you regret them? we want details! lol
3. What is the freakiest thing you have done in the sack? Again, HONESTLY lol....
4. What is the biggest eating binge you have ever been on, what did you eat and how many?
5. How many times do you take a #2 per week (i only ask because there is something about girls who always DENY that they poop, when that is just a lie.)

1. Yes, I have always "borrowed" some from my mother... But its usually a few bucks here and there. I usually keep a bit of the change...
2. hmmm... I guess since I have to be honest... I was having a fling type deal with a guy a few years older than me... Ok I was 17, he was 25. I don't really regret much of it, except when he started getting pushy. Some body cavaties are exit only, and I didn't appreciate the suggestions or requests... Nor did I oblige. But what else bugged me about him is he wanted to continue the fling after I started officially dating somebody.
3. God I must be boring. I don't think I have done anything freaky. I've always wanted to try handcuffs (on the guy) but when we finally had a pair, nothing to cuff him to.
4. Eating binges... I've been on drinking binges, but I don't think I was ever on an eating binge... I must be a really boring person. I guess when I was 14, we had this party, there were 5 of us girls. Between us we ate 7 large pizzas, 3 of the jumbo bags of M&Ms, and probably about a gallon of each.
5. Man you are sick... I didn't ask you how many times you use the bathroom. I was nice... Ok maybe 2-3 times a week... It really depends on how much junk food and ruffage a person eats. For example if you eat alot of popcorn, like a few bags everyday, then chances are you will be getting some reading material every day. Now some people have to go the morning after a drinking binge. My son's father is one of those... When I was pregnant, I used the bathroom a bit more often. But I had a realky big baby and considering there was no room for much...
I must be a really boring person... Sorry, no freaky dirt on me...
Anything else? Next thing I know you are going to be asking when and where I lost my virginity, or where my son was conceived. Nosy Bum!

"Little Jap tourists", Cheerios? Just out of curiosity, do they look any different than a group of chink, slope, dink, or gook tourists?

Casey's can be found all throughout southern and central Illinois as well as Kum & Go (those PR people need to lose their jobs...). If I'm not mistaken, Casey's has a red sign with some sort of southwestern motif - maybe a wagon wheel and some white script (I think).

I would first pay of all my bills. They take a vacation until the hoopla wears down a little. I would take my best friend Heather to New York since she didn't get to go when we were sophomores. When I get back I would pull out a map and decide where I want to move to, because people and "charities" begging for money would make my life a hell. I wouldn't move too far because my best friends, Heather and Russel are here. And my son's father is 6 hours away as it is... I would go out and buy a nice Chevy Blazer or Saturn Vue. And of course lots of clothes. Oh and a better internet connection, because this dialup is driving me bonkers....
For charities to donate to, I would donate to The Humane Society, Red Cross, and the local shelters for abuse women.
I would also donate a small-chunk in the form of a grant to a small school I went to. And some to the amusement park to get a crew in and make sure the coaster is up to requirements.
I would set up college trust funds for my son, and the rest of the kids in his generation, from my close cousins, as well as his two cousins from his dad's side. I would also pay off my sister's tuition and set up for my brothers and step-sisters to go to college.
But growing up with close to nothing at times, I wont forget where I came from. Money doesn't make the person, it just gives them more influence.

Ok I am a "country"girl in some ways. I guess I haven't been introduced to the new terms... Chink, Slope, Dink, or Gook??? I guess Japs are easier to identify, though alot of Asians look alike.
No we didn't talk to them. There were over a hundred of us posing, and if one got out of the formation, it would have screwed everyone up. Plus we still had to get back to the hotel because we had rehearsal at eight the next morning.
Honestly I can say I do not own a scale. When I was pregnant I threw it away. I still have some baby weight to get off of my hips. Actually the problem wasn't the baby, it was the birth control and not having an active job this last winter.
I have been 5'4" since 6th Grade... I know I am a shorty. Though I never thought I was short until I dated David. He liked to tease me about my height....
Here is what the Caseys Sign looks like. They are located in the 9 midwest states, with their home based In Ankeny Iowa. I will put a useless history lesson on the next post.

Useless Casey's History
In 1959, Founder, Don Lamberti leased a store from his father on East 14 th and Broadway in Des Moines , Iowa . After nine years of operating this old country store, which he remodeled into a convenience store, Don's gas supplier and friend Kurvin C. Fish, suggested that Don buy the Square Deal Oil Company.
Don followed his advice and purchased the service station with a three-bay garage in Boone , Iowa . Using the knowledge from his store in Des Moines , Don converted this gas station into a convenience store. The Boone store was named "Casey's" by using Kurvin C. Fish's initials. The logo sign at that store is the same sign that we use today. The store was located right on old U.S. Highway 30, which ran coast to coast back then. Business was fantastic and sales passed what anyone expected. With one Casey's store in operation and the idea in place, the convenience store was here to stay.
With sales doing well, Kurvin and Don were eager to open a second store. The first store in Boone , Iowa was doing well in a community with a population of only 12,500. A decision was made to see if Casey's could repeat the success of the Boone store. There was not a lot of money so an existing service station in Creston ( Iowa ) - population 7,000 - was purchased and remodeled. Again, this store did better than anyone had thought it would. The third store was built in another small community with a population of only 1,500 - Waukee , Iowa . This was the first Casey's built totally from scratch and proved to be the best store yet. At this point, Don realized he was on to something and decided to establish the stores in communities with a population of 5,000 or less.
By 1978, there were 118 Casey's stores, including 45 stores located in central Iowa . One of these was Broadway Oil. This was the small neighborhood store started in the 1930's by Don Lamberti's parents. It was converted to a Casey's in 1977.
Also in the late 1970's, Casey's successfully overcame another obstacle. When a gasoline pump or some other piece of equipment at a store needed repairs, the store would call a local repairperson to fix the problem. Often it was difficult to know exactly what the problem was so the store employees weren't sure whom to call to make the proper repair. Casey's solved the problem by hiring its own Service Technicians who travel from store to store. These Service Technicians are cross-trained in electrical, plumbing, heating, and cooling work. Today, this department performs most maintenance and repair work in the stores.
Casey's headed into the 1980's with great confidence and ideas that would help position the company where it is today. In 1982 Casey's decided to lease a 55,000 square foot building in Urbandale , Iowa , to serve as the company's first Distribution Center . In cooperation with Super Valu and Sav-a-Stop, Casey's stocked the Distribution Center with groceries and other products sold by our stores. The next stop was to purchase more trucks, hire more drivers, increase computer capacity, and make a successful transition from being strictly a retailer to also being the owner and operator of a wholly-owned distribution system.
During this busy period, Casey's also began to move into the food service business, first with the introduction of homemade donuts in October 1980. In December of 1984, Casey's began preparing made-from-scratch pizza.
A landmark in Casey's history came with the move in 1990 to the company's new home on a 36-acre campus in Ankeny , Iowa . This consolidated, highly efficient facility symbolizes the company's commitment to quality and excellence. The headquarters complex is strategically located with easy access to Interstates 80 and 35.
With the completion of the most modern distribution facilities in the convenience store industry, the company began in 1990 to modernize and update older Casey's stores to bring them into full compliance with environmental standards and to make the stores more attractive and accessible to customers. One of the major changes was the enlargement of drive-up gasoline service areas and the installation of weather-protecting canopies at many stores.
In October 1994, Casey's expanded to the state of Indiana with their 900 th retail outlet in the city of Sullivan . Two significant milestones were reached in 1996 when Casey's 1000 th store opened in Altoona , Iowa and sales topped $1 billion. Don Lamberti states, "We have accomplished these milestones because of exceptional employees, quality products and value pricing." He adds, "As we continue our growth and move toward new goals it will become even more important to maintain our reputation as the cleanest store with the friendliest people in the convenience store industry."
For many years, Casey's had focused on expanding the company by building new stores. However, in 1999 this focus began to change. Casey's begun to accelerate its purchase of franchise stores and directed efforts to upgrading older stores and buying from competitors. After years of tremendous growth, it was time to focus on improving the quality and profitability of each of the stores in operation.
