NASA is on the hunt for extraterrestrial life, and they're looking for it in Mexico. Really. Reuters reports that top researchers at the U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration are hunting for clues to alien life in the archipelago of 170 lakes in Mexico's Chihuahuan desert. Specifically, they're searching for calcified clumps of primitive bacteria swimming in the pools.

If you want proof of alien life, what happened at Roswell would fit the bill, that wasn't a weather balloon.

Also, there was this interesting story that when NASA got its most recent photos from the Mars global surveyor a few years back, that NASA was NOT releasing those photos, except in dribbles. Just a few photos here and a couple of them there. Anyway, according to the documentary, John McCain warned NASA that there would be a day of reckoning if it was found out that they were hiding ANYTHING. All of a sudden, thousands of photos became public.

It seems that the powers that be would rather find proof of intelligent life "way out there" using SETI rather than admit intelligent life has been visiting Earth and there is nothing the U.S. can do to stop it.

Dammit.

Er... Just one question : why would NASA try ton conceal evidence of life on maris, knowing that would boost its budget ? They've done all they could to investigate possible primitive lifeforms on mars and when they find it they hide it ? That makes no sense.

You familiar with what happened to our Native Americans when the European powers first started showing up? The land was taken from them and they were enslaved, that's the short of it. The worst though was disease, some estimates I remember from my college days suggest that some 80 to 90 percent of the indian populations were wiped out by disease, at least along the East Coast, it was probably the same inland.


It's one thing to find bacteria on mars, or an ocean full of primitive life on one of Jupiter's moons, that WILL shake up civilization badly enough as it is. An artificial signal detected by SETI would also shake up our world, drastically but not catastrophically. In both cases, life "elsewhere" is no real threat to us. The Religious Community would fall into shock, but society would cope.

But to imagine if there was hard proof that a civilization way more advanced than ours has been VISITING us? Visiting us, kidnapping people, performing experiments on those people and there is NOTHING we can do about it? It's feared that there would be those who would start screaming loud, long and repeatedly that these beings are going to take over the planet (they'd probably go over the stories on what happened to the indians) or they'd introduce a disease that will kill us all. Start saying this stuff loud enough and have enough people believe it.........

It's thought that society could very well collapse.

So the secret is kept, the sighting debunked, the people who believe they saw a UFO are rediculed and any hard evidence is kept under wraps.

So yes, I'd say there is a conspiracy going on, and anything short of a huge flying saucer crash landing in central NYC, it's going to be kept that way, dammit.

The government hides alot of sh** from the people why would aliens be any different?

I do however really enjoy Stargate and their storylines have always been really interesting to me, like the way they explained the human race evolving and the like.

Calling 'conspiracy' is a great way to sidestep zero evidence for grandiose claims. Suddenly the total lack of evidence becomes proof of an widespread international cover up!
