See if you can guess which election Condoleezza Rice is criticizing here: she said the government should "abandon policies designed to repress, crush and otherwise stifle expressions of differences," she noted that "would-be voters were turned away from polling stations due to irregularities with voter registration rolls," she pointed out that the "the electoral playing field was heavily tilted in the government's favor," and she criticized the way that "The independent press was muzzled; freedom of assembly was constrained; food was used as a weapon to sway hungry voters." Aha - perhaps you guessed from that last point that Ms. Rice was actually talking about the recent elections in Zimbabwe, which, according to the Associated Press she called "unfair" and "not free." I probably don't have to point out that when you're criticizing a country's elections using examples which almost all occurred in your own country's elections, you end up looking like a bit of a hypocritical asshat. But I'll point it out anyway.

Bush won in a fair election, get over it. If you have solid proof otherwise give it the authorities.
echo's right. clean your own house first. and if a democrat had won, travh, you'd be saying the same thing , if he had won in that manner. you guys act as if you are so seperated from the worlds thoughts, but you prove that we are all the same by the way you complain about dems. so STFU !!

Obviosly you can't read and comprehend. This isn't about the last election or the appointment before it. This is about the hypocrasy of the united states government.
Even shithole places like Venezuellia have paper trails for their voting machines. But not in the good old U.S. of A. where the republicans own the machines.
Our government condemns other countries for their election fraud but refuses to allow the press to report on what goes on in our own country. It's called HYPOCRACY.

I voted on a paper ballot, as did a majority of the voters.

I wonder if Ms. Rice is being asked to prove her allegations or if she can just make accusations and people just mindlessly accept them as true?
