I would like to know what you're favorite songs of the last 5 years are. You've got good taste in music, thetruth05. You're one of the 1st people I've seen on here who likes good music. It seems like the majority of the people on here listen to crap music like Led Zeppelin, Boston, AC/DC, Styx, & Black Sabbath. Those bands are CRAP. I'm also glad to see that you're a Linkin Park & 3 Doors Down fan. Those bands are 2 of the best bands in music history.

Mr. Brightside- The Killers
Yes. The Killers are The Awesome.
I'll give this a shot. I listen to mostly classic rock and I have a bad sense of time, so excuse me if this list is a bit screwed up.
Dark of the Matinee--Franz Ferdinand
Hotel Yorba--The White Stripes
All These Things That I Have Done--The Killers
Wonderwall--Ryan Adams Version
Float On--Modest Mouse
Nowhere Again--The Secret Machines
Simple Pages--Weezer (I think this was sometime within the last 5 years)
Ugh, I'm sure there's more, but I just can't think of them now.

Great bands sputnik, and I realize that you also used famous quotes as your signature. It's great to see another young person having a sense of intellectualness.
Musicknowitall, same here with the 2 bands. That new "Let Me Go" is played an average of 2-3 times a day in my house, and Linkin Park is just Linkin Park. Though I usually take albums from my friends and then upload it to my mp3 player, never the case with Linkin Park, 3 Doors Down, and The Killers.

Yes, us Brooklynites are by far the most intelligent of all the earth's creatures. No one else even comes CLOSE.
I used to have some Gandhi quotes as my signature too; I changed it right before you joined Allforums.
Another song on your list, the Jack Johnson song, is also very cool. Reminds me of summercamp two years ago.
Because you seem to be a pretty cool guy, I won't say anything about the presence of those three Linkin Park songs on your list :D

It was a good song, their songs are always moving. Though I still like Zack De La Rocha better, back when the band was still Rage Against The Machine. After he left I didn't really listen to them as much. Then I heard they changed their name to Audioslave.

I like how the lead singer can just wail like none other on the screaming parts, I like the beats and tempos and guitar parts throughout the songs, but what turns me off from the whole band is that all their songs are depressing. Rarely ever, if at all, do I hear some sort of a positive lyric. So I guess I don't totally hate them, hate them...but I can't stand so much depression within a single song.

That's why people like listening to them. They sing about angst & anxiety & depression & about their feelings.

They're babies and unoriginal ones at that.
They suck because they're horrible musicians. The lead singer has one of the best voices (bar Jonathan Davis(Korn's singer, man that guy's voice is godly)) but the drummer sucks, the guitarist sucks, the rapper sucks, etc. The songs are so simplistic a monkey could play it after a 10 minute lesson. There is no technical skill whatsoever. The lyrics suck, the music sucks. The singer is good, he needs to find a good band. You think you know it all but drop D tunings with power chords is a really pathetic way to play the guitar. It requires no skill whatsoever to just stick one finger across the frets and strum.
I still want to know what instruments you play.

i pretty much agree... it seems to me Linkin park follows a very strict pattern to their songs.... and i can almost call what is coming. They do "cool" things, but after its all done its not very good music.... and the rapper guy is so gay lol.
Johnathon Davis is good, i dont like his voice as much in the newer stuff....its more raspy. I liked it better to start... but he's still really good.
Like him or not, Chris Cornell has pipes, he can wail
And also like him or not, Bono of U2(yea im a U2 mark so what) still has a decent range, but not nearly what he did in the 80's.
