Americans are paying nearly 2.50 a gallon for gasoline and it is expected to climb through the ceiling. But, where is this story in the news? It is not newsworthy???
Yes, stories being given coverage like Prince Charles stupid statements, Terri Schiavo, credit card fraud, and the intelligence commission report are getting top billing. Yes, as long as the media is afraid of the FCC and the powerful brokers in Congress and the White House
you will get little news on the energy crisis and the wars.
This is the way the powers that be want it. This coverup is widening as people are unaware that their scholarships have been cut drastically, that education funding has been cut by nearly a trillion dollars, infrastructure cut to pieces, and plans to cut Social Security. The US Government seems to be for cutting retirement benefits. Congress and the President are in favor of it. Why did they support taking away protections for retirees??
Yes, they meant it. Congress is full of greed and trickery and by the time the American citizen wakes up, he or she will be in the poor house.
Meanwhile, the gas prices go up and up and up and up and up. And no one in the White House or Congress seems to care. Could it be they have been bought and sold????
Sure looks like it to me.
If Jimmy Carter was President today, he would already be hanging in efigy with protestors screaming and yelling for him to be impeached.
Jimmy Carter would never sign a bill that cut retirees benefits. You can bet on that.
What do you think? How do you like filling up for $55.00 in a regular car?? The Media is bought and sold. N
And Congress wants to give the richest corporations and individuals much more in tax cuts. Isnt that nice. And those same corps want your retirement benefits stopped and your wages reduced. America is becoming a Right To Work Nation. Good luck.

The only retirement benefits that the government can cut is that of government employees. If a private company or corporation cuts retirement, then that's there business. Or are you referring to Social Security. Two totally different things. And the administration is attempting to rescue the system, not cut it. They want to give the people on option to invest privately. If the overhaul goes through and you don't like, simply elect not to invest privately.

Perhaps if Carter had had the foresight to see that Social Security would be in danger, then he could of done something about it instead of just passing the buck.

I can remember buying a can of coke for 25 cents as a kid (I'm sure my dad paid a nickle) and now you're lucky to find a machine that sells them for 50 cents. It's called suppy and demand, and inflation. Same thing happens with gas.

From his throne, GW Bush Rules.
There are currently laws protecting US citizens from having their retirement benefits cut. These laws are being changed by your buddies (Republicans and Right Wing Democrats) in Congress. Protections that keep corps from taking away retirement benefits so hard earned.
I can tell that you care. But, many of your friends in Congress apparently are on the take by lobbyists and the laws protecting citizens who retire are at risk.
Every day, the Congress passes legislation against workers, unions, and retirees.

The Republicans make you think you are rich and they get your vote, then they change the rules and you find out you were not rich, you were a pawn of the greedy rich.
