I just watched the BBC series on DVD (1 + 2 + the special)

Wow - pure brilliance! and amazing show.

Then I watched the US version first episode the other night. Wow - how crap was that!

It's hard to beat the "britcoms" for their wit and intelligence.

I personally find even the older "Are you being served" and "Keeping up appearances" to be great (Of couse I own the full DVD set of Monty Python's Flying Circus). The "Vicar of Dibley" is quite funny also.

Leave it to the good ole US media to crap up a good show (remember "Junkyard Wars"?).

Don't forget we have such gems as "Survivor", "Fear Factor", and "The Amazing Race".

I was wondering how the translation would go. I assumed the worst.

Maybe if I hadn't seen the original then I would have had a different opinion.

The BBC office has real depth, as well as being incredibly funny. It really is the type of show that only comes along once every 20 years. Shame there will be no more made, but there was really no way they could extend the plot. I was left wanting more episodes.

The US one just seemed like all the other crap on US TV.
