I think the person with no life here is the one who posts long, inane lists of things he doesn't like...

OH! Your scathing wit has scarred me! That was such a great and intelligent response, I think I'll go shave my head and worship you as a god! Or maybe gouge my eyes out with a spoon so I never have to read such awesomely constructed wit again.

Point well-received. Borg the Troll Slayer is considering slaying this one rather soon if he doesn't let up.

I have made it through a complete half hour of Fresh Prince and it wasn't toooooooooo bad, not great either...the rest I turned off after the first ten minutes and never went back.
The only half hour show that was decent for me was Archie Bunker and it only held my attention for a season or two...then it too became a yawn... I would rather have root canal than watch anything in the above list.

Personally, I think it's time for The Simpsons to be put to pasture. I mean, honestly, it's been 15 years. Just like Terri Schaivo, I think it's time to pull the feeding tube on this shell of a once good show. When the shows air as reruns, and I happen to see it, they are both funny and entertaining. However, when I have the sorry misfortune to see a new episode, I feel like making out with a Glock 17. Why? In the beginning, Homer was actually funny. Now, his 'stupidity' is so damn obvious and annoying that the character is trying too hard to be funny. Lisa is a little "Hanoi Jane" hippy. Bart? Screw Bart. He's just a stereotypical youth from 10 years ago. Marge is just barely mediocre, and that's because he doesn't really do anything. The same with Maggie. It's just high time that we take this once great show behind the barn and end it's days with a 12-gauge, because frankly, it's just dying before us anyway.
So, then, why is this show still popular? That's because people are afraid to say otherwise. A primary example would be both of The Matrix sequels. For the first two weeks, people were hailing those movies as if they were the second coming of Christ. Finally, they realized that they both blew and that they were only 'liking' it out of fear of ridicule from friends. It was only when many people came out and said that the movies blew that finally a consensus was made as to the quality of the picture. Saturday Night Live is the same thing. I saw an enitre show, yet didn't laugh once. So then why is it still on? Because people deem it as an 'American institution' and the very fabric of society, even though it hasn't been even remotely entertaining for five years (and I'm being liberal on that figure).
Hell, even look at the response to Music when he posted that The Simpsons were on his list (I'm not defending you, you're little more than a psuedo-Maddox anyway)
The Simpsons - GRAND

Sorry there Innocent X...er...silverbullet, please, spare me the pear...
The best example of why it is still popular is right here. The Simpsons is old, unfunny, and should be pulled. The only reason why it is still on is because people are afraid to say othewise. It's funny. People have an easier time talking about the war in Iraq than talking about The Simpsons. Oh the humanity...

Yeah, Simpsons ain't too great now. But you may notice the title of this thread, and the inclusion of the word "ever," which implies that the Simpsons were never good, which is patently false.

The Simpsons, when in their prime time were friggin' awesome. And I do agree that some of the new stuff is a little watered down from what it used to be...but how else are you supposed to get ideas for a show thats been running that long? Groening himself even said that he's running out of new and creative ideas for the show (I'd assume that's part of the reason why Futurama came out). it almost seems as if the reruns are what's keeping the show alive...that's all I watch anymore from the show.
I'd also like to say that after watching American Dad, I'm afraid that Family Guy might be just as bad.

What will be Family Guy's demise is it's massive overexposure. Just look at South Park. It is not nearly as popular as it was like 4-5 years ago. I mean, Family Guy has the DVD box set, air time on TBS, FOX, and Cartoon Network (I'm not sure if it's still there or not, though). When you see hoodies with a picture of Stewie on it, you know the show's in trouble. Let's face it, I don't remember too many Seinfeld shirts when the show ended...

Well, I may be setting myself up for a flogging too..lol, but these are my favs and least liked.
Favs: Touched by an Angel, Roseanne, Charmed, AFV, Friends, Everybody loves Raymond, and Highway to Heaven.
Least liked: NYPD Blue, Any CSI (GROSS!), Law and Order, X-Files.
As you can see, I tend to lean more towards uplifting or funny types of shows. Charmed is about the only action I get in my life....lol Only thing I don't like about it is Rose McGowens voice. Can you say "Frog"? hehe
Oh, and I used to watch Seinfeld all the time. Who can NOT laugh at the "Magic Loogie"(is that how it's spelled???) episode?

I agree with you about X-Files. OVERRATED. I've watched a few episodes of CSI, & it's isn't too bad. I don't really care for it, but I don't hate it. NYPD Blue should have been canceled a LONG time ago. Also OVERRATED. Why would you like Roseanne & Friends?? Roseanne's a fat, overweight BITCH. Highway to Heaven was a good show. Too bad it didn't last longer. Everybody Loves Raymond is alright.

In order to be a comedian, you have to be funny, & Roseanne is NOT funny AT ALL. I see NOTHING humorous about her. She's a FAT, OVERWEIGHT, NO TALENT BITCH.

well there ARE people out there who DO think Roseanne IS funny. Sure, she's DONE some THINGS that even I don't think are APPROPRIATE, but just BECAUSE she isn't funny TO you...well, we've been THROUGH this many TIMES...
...PINEAPPLES!

IMO, the worst TV shows are
1. The O'Reilly Factor
2. The 700 Club
3. Crossfire
They are only watchable until they become so mind-blowingly terrible that it is no longer amusing to make fun of them.
And sitcoms I don't like, I just don't watch. I'm impressed that MusicKnowItAll watches so many TV shows he doesn't like in order to have such a long list. Or else he doesn't watch them and just puts them up there to look cool or something.

My father always said 'My Mother The Car' was the worst TV show ever. And he spents all day watching the Weather Channel so he knows a thing or two about bad televison.

What about The Facts of Life?
Too Close For Comfort? Baywatch?
How did One Day at a Time last 9 years?
Charles in Charge? ALF? It's a Living?
Any '80s first-run syndicated show?
What list would be complete w/o Saved By The Bell? How'd you miss that thing?
I notice that many of those programs you picked were fairly recent, like over the last ten years or so. I wonder how old you are and how long you've been watching TV. I'll bet you don't recall "Madame's Place" or "The Tortellis" or "Filthy Rich" or "Manimal" or "Misfits of Science?" Those were gems.
I also notice that the "reality" shows escaped your wrath. There's a veritable treasure trove of bad TV there.
That tells me a little something about your tastes. Jesus, the toons on your list are more realistic than most of that stupid, fake, over-choreographed dreck. If you're a fan of that crap, then your list is not meaningful enough even to be ridiculed although you're right about some of those train wrecks (Becker, MWC, Lucy. Fresh Prince jumped the shark so often, they might as well replace JTS with Freshed the Prince.)
I will state for the record that those last two Seinfelds sucked out loud. That final one was a disgrace and an insult. We deserved better than a f***ing clip show. But all in all, it was better than 99.9% of the current crop. And give Family Guy another look. It blows the tired Simpsons out of the water.
Or don't. I don't care. But if those 10 are the worst you could find, you're not trying hard enough. Here's 2 parting thoughts: Love Boat and Herman's Head.
