Agreed on all counts. Well, of the ones I know, at least. I'd also like to add Wing (http://www.wingtunes.com).

The Beatles(Admittedly, Ringo was not the best drummer in the world...)? Toni Iommi(Black Sabbath's guitarist)? A bad guitarist? Are you mad? The others I agree with though.
I can't really add bad musicians, I don't listen to them and I don't know them.
Oh! Yngwie Malmsteen, one of the dullest guitarists I have ever heard. Ugh, speed does not equate to quality...

Agreed on all counts.....EXCEPT WILLIAM HUNG!!!
Are you kidding? He's the greatest!

I agree with all of them except one. "The Beatles". They were and still are the greatest band. All about talent. I can't believe that you said that. Pathetic man.

I would take Led Zepplin over the Beatles hands down... maybe the Stones too but I am a little undecided about them.

Ashlee Simpson - terrible
The White Stripes - I don't have a problem with them.
Sinead O'Connor - I actually sort of like her
William Hung - he's not a musician, just a sideshow freak
Milli Vanilli - once they started actually singing their own music, yes
Blink 182 - annoying, but no where near the worst
Black Sabbath - don't care for them, but that doesn't mean they suck
Korn - don't suck
The Beatles - oh, you're one of those people that says they don't like the Beatles just so you can shock everyone
Hilary Duff - agreed
The Monkees - I don't mind them
Human League - I like the Human League!
Maroon 5 - they don't suck
Yellowcard - don't know
Sum 41 - don't know
Limp Bizkit - suck

Yea... you can't say the beatles are bad... im not a HUGE fan but you have to give them credit....
but as far as the others.... i have two genres.... bands that suck AND DESERVE NO RESPECT..... and bands that suck, but are respectable for trying....

bands that just plain suck:
Limp Bizket
The simpson anarexic duo
Hilary duff
Yellowcard
Sum 41
Oh, and while i don't necessarily like what they sing about.... Korn is awesome musically.....I listen to them quite a bit

Bare in mind that i run a alternative/rock radio station so im more inclined to side with the heavier side of things. If i miss a band out if means i havent heard enough or any of their stuff to make a comment.
Ashlee Simpson - God awful talentless whore of a singer.
The White Stripes - Catchy tunes with original music and i doubt seriously any of you have heard the album
Sinead O'Connor - Can you honestly not say that Nothing compares to you video didnt move you the first time you saw it?
William Hung - Thats the guy off american idol who everybody loved right? Had a Gimmick, rolled with it, made money. Fairplay to him
Milli Vanilli - Not sure who this is,
Blink 182 - They are amazing at what they do, and i still get a smile listening to the Enema of the State album
Korn - Truly awesome and since Jonathan Davis did the singing for Queen of the Damned im even more inclined to think there one of the best rock bands out there.
The Beatles - Dont listen to them, however you have to be deaf not to have heard a Beatles record and thats pretty awesome to me.
Hilary Duff - She choose an Audience and stuck with it so as long as she doesnt go down the brittany route things are A-ok for this girl.
Maroon 5 - Genius album with feel good catchy songs all the way through. Like Linkin Parks first album this is one of those albums you never feel the need to change track, or skip one on.
Yellowcard - We ask all our guests to bring 12 songs with them to play during that specific set and the ones who bring punk always bring Yellowcard, that says something i feel.
Sum 41 - Great couple of released tracks, lost the plot on the album. I lost interest soon after.
Limp Bizkit - The 3 dollar bill album still gets a regular listen to on my car stereo and this is partly due to the violent vocals that seemed to have died out in his newer stuff. Mind you the Chocolate Starfish album did show they could diversify amidst the media frenzy that they were splitting up.
Jessica Simpson - Better than her sister by a mile, and still retaining that squeaky clean christian image.
System Of A Down - Genius original rock, which when i saw them live was a massive automatic crowd pleaser. There songs are catchy whilst also being technical and i love em for it.
Britney Spears - Personally ive found her fall from grace quite amusing and i still think shes hot, I know the words to about 5 of her songs ooohhh yeh lol
Christina Aguilera - Made the move to 'Woman' first and then to 'tramp whore' which is interesting since Brittany seems to be following the same line.
Lindsay Lohan - Has done really well in the same vein as Hilary Duff and whilst her single is soo pre written made to sell stuff, it does what its meant to and in an interview i saw with her she isnt ignorant of the fact that her music isnt a true reflection of herself.
50 Cent - I watched an interview two days ago with this Rap Mogul and i have to say he has it sussed. He knows music is a business and he drives sales and publicity. I reackon he is the next P-diddy.
Green Day - Genre defining tunes with some of my alltime favourate 'punk-rock' anthems. In my school days i dont think a day went past without Greenday finding its way onto my stereo. The new stuff has kept me singing the songs of old and that my freind is a very good thing.
Good Charlotte - Wank
Simple Plan - Total crock of shit who actually think they are original?? I could hand you 5 bands right now that sound the same. It pains me that they are allowed a contract.
Ludacris - My favourate rapper of all time, Genius lyrics with great beats make this a winning combo everytime. Just got his new album and loving the variation that plays through.
JoJo - This girl has talent, buckets of it. With her Mum planting the musical seed in Jojo as early as 2 years old she has the potential of a long carear ahead of her providing her record company doesnt screw her about.
Gwen Stefani - I was really really expecting/hoping for something totally out there playing on electric synths and just manic backing tracks for her new album but sadly that wasnt exactly how it plays out. Still it has been in my car for the last 3 months and gets a full play at least once a week so its not all bad :)

Chris Botti, Norman Brown, Kenny G, Bob Baldwin, & David Sanborn are jazz musicians.
Steely Dan is a famous jazz-rock band from the 70's & 80's.
Bruce Hornsby is a famous 80's & 90's piano pop singer/songwriter.
Seal is a famous singer. Ever heard the radio hit, "Kiss From A Rose"?? That's him.
Bionic Jive, East West, & 12 Stones are little known rock bands.
Peter Cetera is from the famous group Chicago.
Luther Vandross, Marc Cohn, Kate Bush, Marc Broussard, & Robbie Williams are pop singers.
October Project was famous for a short time in the 90's. They made 2 albums, then broke up. Pretty good band.

well Jay-Z does not suck...hes the best rapper alive...IMO...but you guys dont like rap so it doesnt matter
but how many artists do you know can go into the studio, listen to a brand new beat, and write a song out in your head??? Jay-Z never writes any song down and always thinks it up in his head like that while listening to the beat....now i dont care what genre, thats talent...and hes not rapping about rims and hos either
just my opinion

In my opinion, the ONLY good rapper is Eminem. The rest of them SUCK.

03-31-2005, 12:28 PM
wow....now that is sad
what makes eminem a good rapper? eminem is way overrated...the slim shady lp was a hot album then it went down hill...sure he voices his mind, and offends people...that doesnt make him awesome like most people think...but why do you like him?
silverbulletkc
03-31-2005, 02:05 PM
I got sick of him when all he would rap about was his screwed-up life. Sure, it's understandable the first time, but when there's something in it in every song, it gets old, fast.

Are you crazy, there all great bands, swaying around the charts. Blink 182!! You are entitled to your own oppinion, but what's wrong with them? Yellow Card, the album wasn't exactly the best debut, but I like it, Maroon 5 had a fantastic album, and Sum 41 is a great band who can change up their style from punk to soft metal.
Maybe you put them because of all the attention they've been getting. Please explain.

Jay Z is like Mahammad Ali.. the only reason people actually call them "the greatest" is because they themselves never shut up about how great they are.. and then the media obliges them.
Jay Z has got to stick around alot longer than what he has if hew wants to be considered the best rapper ever....
And as far as Ali.... i have always held the beleif that Mike Tyson, WITH his Catskill NY crew, BEFORE Don King, could've beaten ANYBODY..... including Ali.
Izeberg
03-31-2005, 11:43 PM
for awhile? his first album came out in 96 and continued to release an album each year for 7 years....he never made claims about being the best until people gave him that title, then yea he boasted it...so what...other rappers give him props...even 50 when he was coming up...and musicknowitalls fav, eminem gives him the respect he deserves as well
but no one even claims he is the best ever including him, just the best alive
as far as nas....illmatic was hot then he lost it....i dont appreciate his music anymore, and jay-z won that little battle they had...jay challeneged him to a million dollar live battle and he never responded...and that is losing
thetruth05
04-02-2005, 11:09 AM
I don't doubt that Jay is a great rapper, but his hits are all about the same thing, how much money he has, how much bling he has, how many cars he has...It gets pretty repetitive, but I still like Jay and all, but no where does he come close to Nas in a lyrical stance. Look I'm from Brooklyn and when you’re from Brooklyn you grow up with Biggie and Jay tattooed to your list of favorite rappers. Jay is nice, but Nas is better, but that’s in my view. You’re entitled to your own opinion.
Izeberg
04-02-2005, 12:36 PM
very reasonable response the truth...and i'll agree his singles are never the best from the album...just what sells to the masses...but every artist is like that....but jay's best was reasonable doubt, his first...just like illmatic, nas's best.

This may be be an unpopular statement but...I personally think Ringo was a good drummer. The Beatles relied on melody and arrangements much more than "beat". Could you imagine Kieth Moon playing on A Day in the Life? Just wouldn't work. Sometimes, being a "good" musician means knowing when NOT to play.
es347fan
04-05-2005, 04:24 PM
Ringo was sought out because of his talent on the drums. He had established himself with other bands before sitting in with the Beatles and eventually joining the band.
