View Full Version : The Long Schiavo Saddess Continues to the End!!

The Schiavo saddess continues with the children of the World looking on with a deep stare as the agony pounds on and on.
The many good hearted religious people continue their vigil and the tears are shed in saddness. The death of this fine young woman has been long coming just as it is for everyman. The clock is ticking for us all.
The talk show pundits are busy hunting for divisions in our government and continuing to blame liberals for the impending death. Anyone would know that Mrs. Schiavo would not want all this publicity for her passing and her family.
The tragic events have become a blame-game. Many are being urged to blame the court system, the judiciary for her long death. And the same people who are crying and blaming the judiciary are the same ones who fought so hard for capital punishment and so hard against fetal destruction. The are all good people, except those who are carrying an agenda for other purposes.
America's children watch daily as the beat goes on til the end. Parents need to talk to their children about this tragic event in history that is plastered on every media source possible. And it is, so sad. The death of Jesus was sad. But, in His horrible death came wonderful life on Easter Sunday.
God has a purpose for everything. God is taking care of Mrs. Schiavo, her family, all of us. God loves every man of good will. Men of good will are in God's likeness. God bless Terri Schiavo. She is in good hands with the Good Lord. But, pray that the wicked and greedy are not able to use her death to destroy any remaining fairness left in our government. God bless those who have fought the good fight and those who love the Lord and that humanity is treated fairly in this life by a good and caring government. Jesus is Risen from the Dead. He has conquered the grave. You can conquer the grave too by loving Him.

That's a very great post.
The two greatest problems in any life is death and sin. Only God can help you cope with those.

Those "many good hearted religious people" have some interesting views.
Views like the husband should be killed.
There have been many death threats against him & his lawyers. Strange really that those so intent to save Terri would happily see her husband killed.
One guy offered $250,000 for his death.
Even the parents are telling these people to go home, there will be no doubt death threats against the parents next.
These people camped outside the hospital are easily dismissed as a group with a healthy % of religious fruitcakes.
If you ever wanted to study the psychology of loser missfits - then start interviewing that group camped outside the hospital.

Drew--
What exactly is your point? You know as well as I, that there are those out there, that are just off their rocker.
This does not represent the center of Christians or of nonchristians, it just represents that broad section of nutjobs that do such stupid crap.

I agree,
But there is no real difference between the stupid crap they believe and the stupid crap you believe - yours is just non violent.

I would agree with you. That is throwing in the same with you.

There is one other difference between you and the crazies outside the hospital.
Those crazies have conviction.

The core beliefs may be the same but the detail vary widely.

I agree.
I do know that there are reasonable, sensible christians in this world, I think the majority of them fall into that bracket.
I was talking to Jere though - he doesn't fall into that bracket. His details are very precise, like building plans for a new home would be.

Oh Drew!!! I have no precise plans on what Heaven is going to be like. I just know what scripture tells us about it, and what God has revealed to us.
Think about it. God created this world in 6 days. When Christ rode the clouds into Heaven, he said unto the people, that he was going to prepare for them a place. (Heaven) That has been over 2000 years ago Imagine, if God can create such a beautiful world in 6 days, just think of what Heaven would be like, if hes been working on it for 2000 years.

Thats kind of how i see your existance on this planet.
Jere would you still have faith in God if there was no afterlife?

Yes unfortunatly i would assume most of the other forum goers feel the same way.
If i could pinpoint why i hate Christianity so much id work to fixing that, since i cant, you will continue to make me angry just by speaking.

With that kind of mindset, a message board is probably not the best place for you to be.

It seems to me a contradiction of terms that any human being or group of human beings who believe ---who are honestly convinced-- that the earth is only 6000 years old, that a magical sky-being snapped his fingers and made the first man appear, that donkeys can speak with human voice, and that water can be magically transformed into wine, could be considered "reasoning" or "sensible", by any definition of the words.......

It seems to me you live in a sad world where you have no faith in the unseen. I'll take my situation anyday.

They are not reasonable or sensible. Judge them by their actions, not their words. Their superstitions are wrapped up in pretty words, but consider their actions, that is the true tale of what they are.
They want to tell women how to control their reprodiction.
They want to tell certain people they can't marry.
They want to tell people how to handle personal family trauma.
They want to tell husbands and wifes what to do involving medical care for their spouse.
They want our government to support and advertise their superstitions.
They want our children to be taught their superstitions in school.

Well, Jere, I, as an atheist, am happy. That's all I really want. I doubt you would be happy in my situation. To each his own.

As difficult as it might be for you to believe, I too would choose your mental *situation* over mine...........any day.
I would be delighted if I could be brainwashed, or lobotomized, or drugged, or SOMEHOW made to actually believe that I was not going to die, and was looking forward to "living forever" in a perfect paradise.
Ignorance truly IS bliss.
I envy your mental state.....I have no doubt it is very comforting.

The bad Christians, yes. The good ones don't think that it's their right to interfere with other people's affairs. I know a number of these good Christians. Don't you?

I know a few.
They are truly kind and decent people, and a joy to be around. I do not share their irrational views on the supernatural [IOW, religion] but they are what i think of as "the salt of the earth".

I am more than happy that you are happy. I agree that different things make different people happy....however, I dont understand how far your happiness can reach when you dont believe in an afterlife.
In a way.....if you dont believe in God but yet dont believe in Hell, I can see where you would draw some relief from that.

Thank you for such kind words. Anywho....ignoring your sarcasm....I agree. It is very comforting to know that to be absent from by body will be to be present with the lord. What happiness that brings!

I don't concern myself with the future too much. I'm much more absorbed with the present.

Actually, I don't entirely discount the possibilities of a god(s), heaven(s), hell(s), elf(ves), or anything. I just find them all rather unlikely. And, as I said, I don't worry about their possible existences.

I intended NO sarcasm.
I meant it, quite literally.
Who wouldn't choose happiness, if they were given the opportunity to choose.
I do not disbelieve in religion out of stubborness, I just cannot believe in something that is so transparently false.
I cannot simply "choose" to believe in leprechauns if their existence seems a physical impossibility to me....the same is true for invisible, magical sky-beings.
But if i COULD be brainwashed or drugged to believe in immortality and "heaven", I would welcome it.
