View Full Version : Is This The Basis For The Bible, Koran, and Torah?
Due to the time factors involved, the similarities, and the pre-dating period of 1500 BC, the phophet that came up with Zoroastrianism may have been the religion that was later copied by others in the Middle East.
This religion I speak of here is considered to pre-dated these religions.
It is considered the oldest and one of the first recorded religions switching from many Gods to one God.

Dan, that was really interesting. It could very well be the root beginnings of the three big religions. I had heard of this religion but haven't studied it. Now I guess I should look into it. Thanks for the post. :)

Yes Echo, I first heard of this religion on the History Channel.
After research into it I too believe that it was copied and changed by the three religions mentioned above.
Previously I had wondered which of the 3 religions copied the other. Now I am fairly sure that they all copied Zoroastrianism.

Yes, Zoroastrianism is one of the most influencial religions that preceded judaism. This is not big news. To say other religions have "copied" it is a bit simplistic anyway - the process in which religions were created took centuries and many influences were mixed in what today seems coherent religions.
astra, "big news", as you call it, is when something is new to me in my personal quest.
I see many similar consepts of this old religion in the newer ones.
Now, where did Zarathustra get the ideas for his one god religion.
I feel that a story somewhere in his past influenced him.
Could have been a far east story that he somehow encountered.
Since his God had an advisary it could have been the old Ying\Yang thing improved upon by his creativity. I do not know.
My point is that I believe that the major religions that we encounter today, had their origins in storys that were improved upon by men and eventually accepted as truth. A truth that to many is the one and only.

I agree with you.
Thanks, he also probably got some of his information from the ancient Egyptians during their period of one god beliefs.
