The rest of the world is watching as the United States marches slowly but surely on the track of Ancient Rome. Measures being passed by radicals in Congress and supported by Mr. Bush are taking the entire Nation, the United STates of America into a downward, negative spiral.
The President and his buddies in Congress are too busy fighting Liberalism to realize how bad they are hurting the average and poor American Citizen.
The whole World sees a terrible energy crisis, but, Mr. Bush flies to Washington to sign a bill to weaken a husands rights in a family. But, does he do anything about the energy crisis that is getting bad world wide??? Hell no. There's too much money involved with he and his friends.
Today, the world is seeing red. Tomorrow, the entire world, with America out front, will be seeing depression like none other. Of course, only for the hard working people and poor and elderly poor.
The World looked to America for leadership. The World sees America only playing a sad game: Anything goes to "Destroy Liberalism". The casualties are mounting up and by next year, even the tube will be destroyed.
Hope I am wrong.

What scares me is how are leaders are killing our farmers. At this rate we will be relying on food{more/totally} from other countries. What happens to countries that can't even feed their own? they disappear into history. Keep letting the rich{corporation and politicians} slap the poor and hard working but don't bitch or be surpirsed about what happens next.

Everyone bitches and no one does anything about it.

That is because the people who are bitching are outnumbered by the sheople who keep voting the same way and expecting a different outcome.

Crap post.

The world sees America tottering the way of the Roman Empire? No, the world sees America taking on an enemy that is NOT going to leave the West alone, and they are peeing their pants because they have no desire to tangle with someone who is going to fight back. Which is why the Euroweenies have protested our moves in the Middle East rather than support us. The Euros KNOW the U.S. will not attack them, they also KNOW that Mid East terrorists will. The Roman empire conquered others, took their wealth and enslaved the populace of other countries. The U.S. is trying to bring the same customs and dignities that have allowed the West to reach the peak of civilization. Of course, the liberals will never see things that way while Bush is in office. Dammit.

Energy crisis? It will be helpful if the world could come up with a better solution rather than raise taxes.

Weakening the rights of a husband? Yes a husband who had taken up with ANOTHER woman years ago and had kids by that other woman. I guess the PARENTS of Terry don't have a say in her fate, in spite of the fact that they had volunteered to take care of here themselves. Why is it that libs are so hard up about not handing out the death penalty to murderers, yet so gung ho about killing a helpless woman? That has me confused.

Why is it the government's fault that people are poor? People get out of life what they put in it.

The Democrats believe in the distribution of wealth. Why should the more finacially successful people have to pay to support those who choose not support themselves? And yes, being poor is a choice. If you don't have money get a job, if it's not enough get a second job and live within your means.

If you suffer a set back, get back on your feet and don't give up. Don't expect the government to rescue you.

Save money where you can. Invest it in a retirement plan so you don't have to be a burden on the country when you get older.

I think thats mainly because if there is no even distribution of the wealth, the rich will get richer, the poor wil get poorer, and the middle class will all but disapear. This is somethng that any historion will tell you is the perfect ingredient for disaster. Eventually if the rich have everything and there is nothnig left for anyone else, the poor will eventually make the descision that if they can't obtain the things they need or desire through law and civil obedience, then they will stage a revolt, attack the wealthy, and take whaever they need to survive by any means necessary. This is the main cause of almost every modern revolution that has taken place raging anywhere from the french revolution where marie antionette was beheaded, to the civil rights revolution here in the US wher Dr Martin Luther King was assassionated.

Simply because a person is poor doesn't mean that they want to be. Not everyone has the same opprotunities as the rich. People that are poor have to be taught to live better. Mainly through better schools and even more inportant, having positive role models to serve as living examples of what they can achieve if they apply themselves

Geez Dunkirk,

The second half of your post was excellent, the first half was simply terrible.

The bad stuff first. The Constitution says that every citizen is entitled to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. It doesn't state that everyone is entitled an equal share of the wealth produced by the country, nor does it give the Government power to take someone else's stuff and give it to the "poor" to make things fair. Geez, sometimes I have to wonder about people. What you are talking about is socialism and it doesn't work. Ever. The day a central authority gets to decide who should make what and start taking things people have earned to redistribute it (read take it for themselves) is the day people stop trying to innovate. Ever wonder why you never saw the Soviet Union come out with a product people wanted? It was simple. The Commies controlled what was made, then they went and took the best stuff for themselves. Someone who worked twice as hard as the others would've simply done twice the work and got nothing for it, except to be ostricized by his other workers for making them look bad. Nice atmoshpere for innovation, eh? Don't get me started about life on a Soviet farm, or the way businessmen in India were treated.

Also, I've heard this crap about the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer for 25 years now and it simply isn't true. If you look at the statistics for the 80s (google it), the middle class grew, and it kept growing through the 90s and it still is today. More people own their own homes than ever. Also, I wouldn't be worried about the "poor" rebelling just yet, they are richer than most other poor people around the world. There was a documentary that CBS put out in the late 80s called "People Like Us." It's intent was to show the plight of the "poor" in the U.S and embarass the Reagan Administration. WELL, the Soviet Union decided to air this little gem of a documentary to its citizens. The effect the Commies hoped for, showing the suffering of the American poor backfired. Big time. The citizens of the Soviet Union say that even the poorest Americans had cars, apartments, microwave ovens and color TV. These were expensive and rare luxury to those in the Soviet Union. Also, I can point out a man from India who wanted to go to America. Asked why he wished to go to America so badly he said, "Basically, I want to live in a country where the poor people are fat!" So much for our "poor" suffering. Dammit! There is a saying for America. All socialist schemes in America have died on roast beef and apple pie. Mark it well. OH, did I mention that the U.S., through it's Great Society program spent umpteen billion dollars on its war on poverty? It didn't work. What image do you have when you think of a housing project? Not a happy one, I think. There's reason for it. People have to earn their wealth, not be given it.

NOW, for the good part of your post. Those people who live in poverty, and I'm not denying that the U.S. does have its impoverished DO need to work hard in school, stay away from gangs and drugs, find good role models and emulate them and work HARD to lift themselves out of their bad circumstances. I'll post a link to Larry Elder's personal pledge, it details your ideas for a poor person who wishes not to stay that way. Please read it, I hate to post a link that nobody reads. Dammit.

Part of the reason for the food thing is that the government pays farmers to not produce. The less of a crop they produce, the bigger the compensation they get from the government.

Second, i am for equal OPERTUNITY, not equality of wealth. I believe that everyone has a right to make it big, but they have to work for it. Just giving people what they want never works.

Think about it, a kid wants an allowance. If you just give it to him, the kid gets lazy, wastes the money, and nothing good comes of it. But if he works for it, then it is his, he might still waste it, but he is wasting his own money not someone elses. It's that ownership thing.
