Trent Lott is between a rock and a hard place. The beliefs he has given voice to exposes the faultlines of the new Dixiecrats. Do you really think he is leader of the Senate Republicans and not have other Southern Senators share his policitcal ideology? The Conservatives are closet racists. Check closely their fundamental politics. It harkens back to America of the 1940s and 1950s. Segregation of the races is central to those beliefs. Conservatives like Lott fully beelieve in the Bible, and just as fully believe that god appointed the white race to rule over other races. Try listening to Bush speak about his basic religious beliefs and what he believes his god has ordained for the Republicans.

This has less to do with "getting along" and more to do with assimilation. There will not be total assimilation into this culture. You can bet your sweet patootie that if a boat load of Norwegians landed in New York, there would be kisses on the cheek rather than sending the Haitians back. The darker your skin color the less desire for assimilation. Those in power will make sure of it.

Perhaps, you are lucky enough not to live in a State where the bulk of the population is alien, and some 20 percent are illegal. My State is being crushed by the burden of its socialistic policies that lets an illegal enter it and get immediate free medical care and welfare. My State has a $35 billion budget deficit due simply to its having to care for millions of worthless scum.

In my State it is aliens who commit 74 percent of all crimes; they also make up more than 70 percent of the prison population. In my State, you cannot enter some 40 percent of its neighborhoods. So unless one live under such conditions, then one hardly knows anything of the realities of it.

Yes, I do pay taxes. Welfare etc. that you speak of are referred to as transfer payments. You must qualify. Welfare reform itself, which wants to send people to a 1 year school or have them make 7 bucks an hour does not help move them out of the poverty level.

Let me tell you a couple of things about your illegal aliens. Most of the ones that come up from Mexico, do the dirty work of this nation. And you aren't about to lose them and you owe that to capitalism. You want to nail the people at the bottom, but you don't want to nail the farmers, airports, hotels, etc. who hire them, do you? Who wants to stand in the way of the good white man who is just trying to make a buck?

Your second problem is the estimated 50, 000 to 100,000 people who are sold into slavery in the U.S. We call that International trafficking. Most of those are women and children and they are placed in prostitution rings as well as factory work, hotels, restaurants etc. and so on.
Then you have cases like the John Pickle Company, where 50 men were brought from India, men that HAD good paying jobs. The John Pickle Company manufactures pipelines.

Let us further your education. There are two types of neighborhoods in Calif. One type is the enclave of the wealthy. The other is the gheeto/barrio of the poor and useless-mostly illegal scum.

We Californians pay more than $300,000 for a single family home. That cash comes from hard work. The debris living in the ghettos/barrios depend on our taxes to pay for the filthy ratholes in which they live and breed like rabbits-not to insult the rabbit.
