"... and this great country of ours like Rome before ours is tottering on it's last legs and is about to come crashing down. We are already bankrupt ... . But when we are unable to go any further because of a series of disasters that none of us can foretell. And eventually the United States like Rome before us will fall." ~ Garner Ted Armstrong (Evangelist)

It's not that I want our country to be destroyed. I don't want that to happen.

It's inevitable. :(

We are going about the nuclear proliferation problem incorrectly.

The U.S. is telling these other countries like Iran, North Korea and others that they should not possess W.M.D.'s. While at the same time we're not willing to give up ours. That's sending the wrong message. The approach we're currently taking will only lead to destruction.

No countries in the world should have Nuclear or chemical weapons, including the United States. There should be a verification plan to make sure they and we are complying with disarmament.

We should defend our country with conventional means as should they. Our freedom and democracy is very important, but not if it means we have to destroy the world to save it.

What do you think would happen if we threw out our weapons 1st? We need our weapons for the "my gun is bigger then yours" message. The reason these little countries have not used there weapons is because they know that countries like the US would blow them to hell.

I do agree with this but it is to late, the weapon is allready there.

Who would enforce this the Koreans, Sadam, Osammah, Bush?

This would be great in the land of milk and honey where everyone would fight fair. The problem is that when war starts the guy with the smartest move and the biggest gun wins.

I hate to tell you this, but you are seriously mistaken. There is no win when it comes to nuclear war. We will destroyed just as our enemies are.

Bilge.

The thing about doom sayers is that they are always right, after the fact. I've learned that Nostradamous correctly predicted the collapse of the World Trade Towers. This info could've been more useful in 2000 rather than 2005. The sad part about the prophets of doom is that some idiot will be right, sooner or later, and everyone will break their arms patting them on the back for making a correct prediction, and disregard the 9 million incorrect ones.

About the nuclear prolifteration thing. I think it would be a good time to devise a missle defense system rather than shelling money out on useless government programs, and don't even think of telling me it can't be done.

Dammit.

If every country launched their bomb of destruction then yes you are correct no winners. BUT take a look at history we had the big gun when we stopped Japan {I'm not saying it was the right thing to do} so we were the winner. If Korea become such a threat I am sure our bomb would stop them dead in their tracks. I am not saying build bigger bombs or bombs of mass destruction. I would much rather see more time spent on piece and everyone getting along, the problem with this is that the rest of society does not feel the same way. Like I said earlier take our bomb away but what happens when Osamma keeps his. I am afraid you are living in a dream land if you think everyone will just lay down their arms and smile pretty for each other.

The United States is not the ones saying who can and cannot have nuclear weapons. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) are the nuclear watchdogs. http://www.iaea.org/

America keeps its nuclear weapons as a nuclear deterent. No country will attack us for fear of retaliation. You notice I said no "country."

If nuclear weapons are obtained by a radical muslim country (such as Iran and Syria) then the chance of them winding up in the hands of terrorist increases. And then the terrorist could use the weapons while the country who gave or sold them can claim they had no part.
