I would have to say(as much as i hate them) that the new york yankees and there 26 national championship, and there will to always be at the top is my pick for the number one dynasty.

They lost a lot of clout when they got smashed from three games up to the Sox, though...

Id say the Boston Celtics, they won so many championships in a row its mind-boggling.

I'd have to agree that the Celtics were the greatest dynasy of all time. They won championship after championship. Bill Russell John Havlicek and company were the greatest team ever.

A dynasty can only be judged by the time period that they play in. The Yankees have been at or near the top in every decade since the what? 1900's began?

Its the Yankees. Plain and simple.

well thanks jerejere and i have to agree it would be hard to find one decade where they havent had a great team. though it was bad when they lost 4 games in a row but that is only one season and a dynasty is made over more than one year. Thanks for the post though.

Of all-time, definitely the Yankess.
Currently, the New England Patriots.

Is the name the only thing that matters? To me, the players, and especially the best players on a team, defines the team. If a team has a greater-than-50% roster change involving multiple star players, it becomes essentially another team with the same name.

I understand there are sports in which superstars don't make as big a difference, but what I just said certainly applies to basketball.

Ugh, I must say the Yankees. How I despise them.

Being a Mets fan Sucks.

The Mets made the World Series in 2000.

The Devil Rays have never finished greater than 4th place. The Devil Rays also have never won more than 70 games in a season.

Now, you want to talk about your team sucking? ;)

Not to mention that the Mets also WON the world series back in '86.

I feel for you Bro.

Sort of like UK football.

..........................................Although the Devil Rays were featured in the Disney film, The Rookie. However, having a 40 year old man pitch for them probably isnt saying very much for their farm leauges.

Okay, dude, that's just stupid. Our minor league system is one of the best in baseball, likely because we've been losing so much and getting high draft picks. Yeah, Jim Morris did pitch for us...he was a left-handed reliever, and could be useful. (He was, too.)

Btw, he was 35, not 40.
