Now that Drew Brees is staying with the Chargers for another year, how do you think that the team will do? They have a great defense, one of the top offenses in the game, the BEST running back in the game (GO LT!), and a rising superstar in Drew Brees. What do you guys think?

And we all thought Schottenheimer was a washed up nobody...he certainly proved himself this year.
Personally, I think the Chargers will make it back into the playoffs. They're my favorite AFC team and have been for a long time, so I'd like to see them go far.

The Chargers are your favorite AFC team?! AWESOME! Mine too! They are my favorite NFL team, period! I'm glad to see that you like them, and that you look forward to their future success!
Anybody else?

i have heard a rumor lately that the chargers are going to trade Brees and their two first round picks to the 49ers for Julian Peterson and their number 1 pick. There are a lot of different thoughts on this going around the Niner board (I am a niner fan), I personally think it would be a good move for the 49ers since there are no unamimous #1 choices out there and they could use a QB, although I think rattay is good if only he has enough time to throw. I dont see it happening in reality though, just a fun NFL rumor

On December 26, 2004, the Chargers DOMINATED the Colts for 55 minutes! Peyton Manning was the most frustrated he has been the ENTIRE SEASON, and even yelled at his Offensive Line and his Receivers! With about 4 minutes to go, the Chargers were up by 15 points!
The funny thing is, even though the Chargers have the BEST RB IN THE GAME TODAT, LT, and didn't even have to use him that much! Drew wanted to prove to the world that he is BETTER, no, THE BEST! Unfortunately, close to the end of the game, the Chargers then did NOT eat the clock, as they threw 3 quick incomplete passes, the Colts got the ball and scored (tied Marino's record TD pass with a wimpy wrist flick pass, which is EXACTLY what Drew Brees did the previous time they scored with LT!) The Chargers ALMOST shut-out Peyton, as far as TD passes go, and would have kept Marino's record intact! Then, in overtime, the Colts won the coin toss, which is essential in an overtime, especially with the home crowd behind you. The Colts got VERY LUCKY!
I think that Drew Brees does SO MANY THINGS BETTER than Peyton Manning, and some things JUST AS GOOD! In fact, the only thing that Peyton does better than Drew is sit in the pocket and have his sweet time and throw to one of five superstar receivers! For 55 minutes of that game, Drew Brees showed the world that he is a BETTER QUARTERBACK! A lot of people have SHORT-TERM MEMORY, and only remember the last 5-10 minutes of a game.
P.S. Who won this year's Pro Bowl QB challenge? DREW BREES!
Who got second place and admitted on the spot that Drew does some things better than Peyton, and that Drew is MUCH MORE ACCURATE? PEYTON MANNING!

They're my favorite AFC team, but my favorite team overall is definitely the Minnesota Vikings...which, by the way, are going nuts with their large cap space.

Hey, no arguement there.... it wasn't our best game. Maybe it was the Charger D...or maybe we were just out of sync... who knows.

Well.....your first statement is very flawed. You are entitled to your opinion, but i have a HARD time seeing Drew Brees as "the best".. he is VERY good, no doubt. He had a breakout season this year. But I could make the arguement that he has the best RB in the League, thus making it easier for him to pass the ball. Manning is obvious choice for best QB in the league...why? well he's his own Offensive Coordinator, he stays in the pocket, he throws the ball down the field(at least he did until the last few games of the regular season and the Patriots game), and he very "football-smart". He knows the game, his dad was an NFL QB, you can't argue with his stats this year. Brees is an All Pro QB, but Peyton is just in another league.
And you call Peyton's flick pass "wimpy".... um, and your team did it first....so is your team's flick pass "wimpy"?.... heck, if anything Peyton was rubbing it in your face a bit.... and you guys deserved it for letting that game slip, it shows weakness when you play good for 50 minutes and then get slaughtered the last ten.
Yea, you did keep Manning down on TD passes. Great job on that, but too bad you didnt win the game LOL
And i wont say we didnt get A LITTLE LUCKY.....hey its better to be lucky than good right? But don't chalk up that loss to us being lucky, because you should know better.

Okay, first off, what does Brees do better than manning? I cant think of one thing, oh wait, he's a better roll-out QB. He can throw on the run better. Thats it, anything in the pocket, Peyton is the best, and the whole league and all the MVP voters know it.
As for 5 superstar receivers.... LOL. We have 1 superstar receiver, and his name is Marvin Harrison. The guy is the quickest receiver in the NFL, runs the best routes, and has the best hands. Reggie Wayne and Brandon Stokely are only good because Manning hits them in the numbers every time. If Wayne and Stokely go somewhere else, watch their numbers decline. Marcus Pollard is a good blocking Tight end, and is an above average receiver..... Dallas Clark has decent hands.
im curious to know who the other 2 "superstar" receivers are.

Well, what do you expect. Manning is a class act. If he said he's better, he'd be a dick right? Its a way to keep pressure off, its a way to not start gabbing..... i bet if you ask Drew Brees who is the best QB in the league, you would hear Peyton's name. So what is your point?
