I'm trying to buy my buddy a birthday present and he's very hard to shop for. Anyone know some good war games? I know he already has a lot of the popular ones, I'm looking for something either obscure and good or new and good.

Anything from the Command and Conquer Series. The good people from Westwood Studios will be proud.

Yeah, I know that C&C:Generals is his absolute favorite, so I'm sure he has what he wants from that series already. He also has Red Alert 2.
Any suggestions are really helpful tho'...

The starwars stragegty one, cant remember the name though sorry. If he has an internet connection go with a MMORG of somesort thats war like... www.neocron.com off the top of my head.

Red Alert 2 is the best one out of all of them! I'll still procrastinate from my homework to play an online battle or 50.

Yeah, that's what my buddy says. I gotta give it a try one of these days. Still haven't really gotten into the RTS genre.

I did a search for games that were like C&C:Generals and it came up. There's a demo out, but i don't have a gamespot membership so I can't get it.

ROME: Total War is REALLY GOOD! It is so good, that the History Channel uses this game's engine to recreate historic battles!

ya, Rome Toatl war is really awsome, if oyu like turn based strategy that is very realistic try any of the Combat Mission games. Or if you like FPS's go with Call of Duty or Battlefield Vietnam

Just generally the Total war series, If im not mistaken you can get them in like a 3 game bumper pack Rome/Shogun/and the new one.

Yeh i think that must have been it. Either way, great games and well worth the buy.
