There is a group of Muslim parents (can't remember what state) that want the schools to have specific times set aside during the day for the Muslim students to pray. They also want Muslim students to be excused during Muslim holidays. What do you guys think?

Give it to them. I had a Muslim teacher that was excused from class everyday to pray. I had no problem with it. Best teacher I ever had.

Ohhhhh, but you (I think it was you anyway) said that a moment of silence was wrong because it alienated people who don't pray because it "implies prayer." Yet there can be scheduled times for Muslims to pray. That won't alienate people aparantly, right?

I don't have a problem with it, but, again, this is the double standard. If Christians wanted this you probably wouldn't support it, would you?

I never said to have Muslim prayer through-out the entire school. I said a teacher or student should be allowed to personally take time out of class to pray. If we had school wide Muslim prayer then I would have a problem with it just like I have a problem with school wide prayer for Christians. If a Christian student wants to pray while taking a piss at school I’m not going to stop them.

That’s what I said. Must I always repeat my self? If a child would like to pray alone during school I'm not going to stop them. I just don't like school wide prayer.

That’s what you think. When I was in school we had a moment of silence every day and I always felt excluded from the rest my class. I also had friends that said they felt excluded during this time of day. This is something I don't expect you to understand.

I thought prayer in school was unconstitutional. If Muslims are allowed to have prayer times during they're school day then it follows that other religions should have equal time. You know thats not going to happen.
