A 'reporter' with the alias of Jeff Gannon who writes for an internet site called Talon news has come under the scrutinizing eye of internet bloggers after it was discovered that the Bush Administration has been paying numerous reporters to push government propaganda extolling the 'virtues' of his programs.

Jeff Gannon asked the easiest most biased questions of anyone ever to occupy the WH press room. He seemed like an obvious plant from the start. Well the amazing folks over at daily KOS have been doing some great research into the background of this "reporter" and have found some quite interesting revelations. Follow the link for a short yet hilarious article

So a big round of praise is in order for derailing this partisan hack whom BushCo. so loved. Hopefully the guy will get busted for income tax evasion and fraud as well since KOS found out he runs a fake non-profit as well.

what's funny about all of this whole thing with the reporter supposedly hired to make bush look good is how much it shows the liberal bias in the media. follow me here: it took someone asking questions like this guy asks to stand out from the usual attack questions and trick questions designed to get Bush to admit something they can later use to try and cut his legs out from under him with. Of course since its not an attack question it is assumed he is on the payroll. Little do the people like 98pound weakling know they have just uncovered the liberal bias they so strongly deny. Its like the matrix, they have lived in it so long, they know no different. to them there is no bias, its just the way it is. not until they see something so completely different do they think it can be any other way, and when they do it is like a slap in the face. Its the gay porn guy with the bias! it has to be!!! never once thinking that all along there really was a bias to the left that was only exposed by a right wing bias. its the same with FOX news, it is widley assumed to be right wing, there is basically no question about it, it is assumed. how did this assumption begin? becasue it was different from the other channels.
All news has a bias, like it or not, so if fox news is known as the right wing channel becasue it is differnet from all the others, what does that say about all of the other channels?

But he was on the payroll... does it make him less guilty because a liberal leaning bias caught him?
If a right leaning bias exposed him would that make him more guilty some how?
Just because you lean to the right does that mean you condone what he did?
Is this about trying to make things better, or a "my club wins" mentality? Because if that is what this is about we are all royally screwed.

I do not condone it, but who is to say that it hasn't been happening since the days of John Adams? president use press conferences to get out statements,a and sometimes they may need a set up man to ask the right question. I don't condone it but at the same time I am not going to get all bent out of shape over it either. its clear Bush is not popular with the media. any reporter or pundit who doesn't attack him is labeled right wing or on the payroll, while any reporter who does nothing but attack him is only doing his job. I see this as yet another way to show the liberal bias in the media. Every month there is another bush media scandal. how is that? is he the first prez to do these things? doubtful. Anyway, see it how you want, it looks bad for bush, but at the same time is an indictment of the left wing press who always try to pass themselves off as objective.

I'd say he's got bigger problems (http://billmon.org/archives/001676.html), than liberal leaning bias.

Trav, the press has always used the government as a way to sell papers, and the government has traditionally had a somewhat hostile relationship with them because of it.
