If so... I seek your wisdom..

I am looking for a certain device I've seen that mounts in your car. Its a special LED Display that somehow attaches to your radio and plugs into your lighter. Whenever there is a song playing on the radio that you like, but don't know the name of either the song or the singer, all you have to do is push a button on this display and it will automatically display the name of both the song and the artist.

Anyone here familiar with this device? If so, what is it called and where can I find one?

Please advise

*Is confused as to how that's possible* Windows Media Player, Winamp, etc. find the name of the song based on tags connected to it, I'm lost as to how you could do that over the radio.

It's probably for satellite radio. As far as I know, the radio itself displays the artist and song.

There's a monthly charge too. XM satellite radio is similar.

I have seen radios in mid- to high-level cars that will display that information from over-the-air stations. At least it will display the call letters - I think it does the song as well. So I wouldn't be surprised if someone made a little unit that displayed that info for those of us that don't get the fancy car radios.

I've seen that as well, but I always wondered if that had to be programmed in by the user (like the TV stations on my TV) or if they showed up automatically...
