"But Szemes says he is still a prisoner of his war traumas. Every time it rains, his mind goes back to the hurricane and the bodies. Loud noises make him uneasy. He takes 23 prescription pills a day. He attends PTSD group therapy each week, and he avoids people, spending much of his day sitting alone in his tiny apartment. (http://www.suntimes.com/output/news/cst-nws-wvets06.html) He knows he'll be dependent on the government for the rest of his life."

Whew!!

At least we can all sleep better, at night, knowing the 1%ers & Chickenhawks are getting the appropriate tax-cuts! ;)

That sucks. Love 'em and leave 'em thats Americas policy. check this shit out.

---------------------------------------------------------

The first time Kristin Peterson's husband hit her, she was asleep in their bed.

She awoke that night a split second after Joshua's fist smashed into her face. She ran, terrified and crying, to the bathroom to wipe the blood spurting from her nose.

When she stuck her head back into the bedroom, there he was--punching at the air, muttering that she was coming after him and that he was going to kill her. Kristin started yelling, but Joshua's eyes were closed. He was still asleep.

Some casualties that rarely get mentioned.

"There are 58,000 names on the Vietnam Wall," ... "But 111,000 more committed suicide after they came back."

I hope the VA gets the funding they'll need.

We could start, by HOPING Bush doesn't offer any of his (quick, insincere, under-funded......if funded, at all, bullshit) fixes!!!!!!!! (http://www.50bushflipflops.com/Introduction/home.html)

Bush cut funding to Vets in his first term. He has in this budget proposal cut funds again, increasing what they have to pay for prescription drugs.

Let see
Doesn't fund the war with enough money
Doesn't give the troops enough weaponry
Doesn't give them the proper protection devices
Doesn't send enough troops
Cuts vets funding in first term
Proposes cutting vets funding in second term

Before the neocons starty screaming about Clinton and military funding......Remember that the president durring times of war has the power to draw money from the numerous different funds to help support these things.

He sure comes off anti military for being such a war monger.

Well gee, Echo, you don't support the war at all. And wouldn't no matter what Bush did.

Otherwise known as propaganda. I can assure you liberals aren't the only ones guilty of that.

How odd that his (version of) morality never translates to honesty or common-sense (http://www.thenation.com/doc.mhtml?i=20041108&s=facts)!! I guess that's one of the benefits of Divine Right.

What a coincidence his MBA broke, during his conversion/Born-again, period. :@@:

......But, are still subject to budget-cuts (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A6334-2005Feb7.html)!!

"Then a letter arrived two months ago making things even worse. The Purple Heart pinned on him nearly two years earlier had been "an administrative error" because his wound was not "caused directly or indirectly by enemy action." Ten other Marines who sustained noncombat injuries got the same news, from the office of the commandant of the Marine Corps.

For a branch of the service that considers itself the most rigorous in the awarding of medals, such revocations are exceptionally rare, according to military historians and veterans. And for the 11 Marines, this was a final indignity added to the shattered bones, crushed intestines and broken teeth they suffered in a war zone. "

I guess Iraq-time & Mekong Delta-time aren't as sexy as The Great Air-War, in Texas!!
