I found an interesting article on effects generated artificially in the Aurora Borealis. It is in the journal Nature, and is by the scientists who conducted the experiment.

I am curious what others think of this, and HAARP in general. I am not certain what I think. It certainly is interesting, and I am disquieted by the number of variables.
