View Full Version : Pop up will be gone from my songwriting board

People were complaining about the pop ups at my board, "Grimes Songwriting Board" so I am doing something about it. I am no longer going with a free board which has pop ups for PC USERS.

If I want to get more members, I had to realize I must please the PC users as well. If they would just get Macs they would have no pop ups what so ever. Seeing how that is unrealistic, I have decided to go with a paid site.

The site will be up graded in 48 hours. I will post another thread letting everyone know when the site is updated.

If you want to sign up at Grimes Songwriting Board now that is fine. I am sure most of you will want to wait until after 48 hours when the site will have all the new features including NO POP UPS.

If you want to sign up early the link is

.www.geocities.com/grimessongwritingboard (http://www.geocities.com/grimessongwritingboard)

The cover page will probably still have the pop up, however the MAIN FORUM where all the posting and activity is WILL NOT

Well I hope you are happy with critiques that say GOOD READ. Because most of these boards the people do not know how to critique a song. So everything is good.

If you want a good critique from 2 people who have majored in songwriting from Berklee College of Music come to my board.

Again, I will let you know when the board has been officially updated and all the pop ups gone. The email from aimoo ( the server hosts) said it will be taken care of in 48 hours.

I will post back and you all here can decided to come or just stay here. However, I am confident my board will thrive once again as it did before.

Or Firefox (for Windows). Or Opera (for Windows). Or Maxathon (for Windows). You're really mad at idiotic IE users, not Windows users. Calm down.

Believe me, I am not mad at all. If you want to know the truth I pity you guys. I pity you for not truely experiencing a great OS like X. You windows users have to put up with UGLY looking computers, that are diseased full of worms and viruses.

Mac doesn't get pop ups like you PC users. So I am not mad i actually pity you guys.

Like I said, I am up dating my site to a paid site. The pop ups will be gone. The site will be updated sometime within 48 hours.

Only if you use your computer like an idiot. With a touch of security (not using IE, not downloading stupid programs, using a firewall and virus scanner, running a spyware check every couple of weeks to get the tracking cookies [that ALL OS's get]), a Windows machine can be just as secure as a Mac, or as Linux.

I haven't seen a popup in over two years.

You haven't seen a pop up in 2 years yet you do on my site? hmmmmmmmmm?

Windows is a toy and a joke. I hear horror stories after horror stories from all my windows friends. Believe me it is rare to find a windows users who is not having problems. I should know, I ran windows for 2 years and couldn't take it any longer. The OS is a joke and a toy. Everything runs terrible on windows. Even Microsoft explorer runs better on my Mac then on my windows computer.

I've never even been to your site. How could I have seen a pop up there?

All your computer-illiterate Windows friends, perhaps.

I have had one, yes one, problem since I get this WinXP box. That problem was caused by a program that had gotten very confused, and I did eventually solve the problem, which was the fault of that program's programmer, not Microsoft.
I should know, I ran windows for 2 years and couldn't take it any longer.
I've run Windows since I got my first Win9x computer in 1996. I am no Microsoft fanboy, and in fact I'm not very partial to Windows at all. It's adequate for my uses, and all my games run on it. But it works fine for me. Never had a major problem with it.

Repeat yourself much? Repeat yourself much?
Everything runs terrible on windows.
If you're a moron and infected your computer with loads of spyware, of course it does.
Even Microsoft explorer runs better on my Mac then on my windows computer.
Microsoft Explorer? What is that? I've never heard of it. There's Internet Exploder, which is a steaming pile of crap masquerading as a browser, and there's Windows Explorer, which is the main file browser thingamajigger.

There is a reason why you are no big fan of microsoft. Because it's ugly, boring, and terrible.

There is a reason why Mac users are fanatic about X. Because it's solid, pretty, excitng, stable, and innovative.

You Mac zealots are nuts. You do realize that if you compare OS X to most Linux distros, the Linux distro is better, right?

Im using Fedora and he's right, we have the ability to tweak it and change it to make sure not one single popup or spyware gets in. think about it, these people would have to market their virus's to the smallest amount of people when you consider how many users use Explorer compared to Firefox.

YES......thank you guys for backing up linux

OSX has been based off of a UNIX core to begin with anyway travis..

does bashing PC users give you a woody or something travis? get over it, mac is never gonna rule the computer world, but i'll give them credit for realizing their products are way over priced and they made a mac mini, too bad it has shit for specs

Loki...glad to see you made a switch...you get the hang of it already? :)

The key word being CORE. Who cares. I don't deny linux is a VERY STABLE os. But the problem with linux is YOU CAN'T DO ANYTHING WITH IT.

No one cares about linux. Mac is at least THE NORM in certain realms, for example THE ENTERTAINMENT industry.

Moreso than Macs, at least there's a quality copy of everything, and there are such things as emulators. Oh, and that's why we dualboot Windows.

Oh, macs... Seen the mac gaming section? Bejeweled! Development, on a Mac? Wanting to loose money? Not to mention you have the dumbest CEO in the technology buisiness(John Romero doesn't count). Proprietery hardware? Proprietery software? Lisencing to write something for it? Constantly shooting yourself in the foot? What's that? Adobe is turning their back on you? Well, 90% of your consumer base may just disapear. Adobe's done with video on the Mac, since jolly old Jobs decided to start writing their own programs. Well, shit. Norm, my ass. Not only has it not the norm, it really doesn't have much of a chance to ever be it. All because you people are retards. Oh, and I probably spent well less than a 1/3 of the cost on my machine than you did on your Mac, and mine is probably at least 10 times better. Not only that, it runs a useful operating system, and a good one.

Besides, I didn't get pop-ups at your website. My eyes started bleeding from all of the other ads. That floating thing! GOOD GOD. Not only that, the UGLYNESS.

lol....i think blib summed it up.

i can do anything in linux that i do in windows minus some gaming, then you know what i do...restart boot up windows play some games and boot back up in linux while you play 10 year old games because thats all you have. any program they have for mac for the graphics/music department they have the same program or one like it for windows anyway....and theres a great chance i can emulate the windows program under linux....so keep dreamin travis that your mac is god

If you join, see you there, if you don't then it is good bye because I will not be returning to this site.

Best of luck to all, whatever you are doing in life.
