Hewlet Packard in their infinite wisdom have givin me the task of keeping a specific website amidst their main page updated. Because when editing webpages i work from a simply system that i first download what it is i need to edit then upload the new files, i went to copy the stuff from the remote harddrive to mine.

Thus when it went wrong.

< "Cannot copy 'file name': Access is denied.

Make sure the disk is not full or write protected and that the file is not currently in use." >

Im not I.T. retarded however ive never had to deal with remote servers and the like, any advice or questions leading to an answer would be cool.

Loki

Tried FTP? Or will they let you?

Nope they wont let me, (was my first choice) apparently because so many people use so many different pieces of software it would be impossible to configure their security agent program to allow the stuff off the server, so drag and drop is the only method (although how they implemented that i dont know)

Hm, could be that they need to allow you write access to that particular drive...

Already had that done, My only last thought was they have configured the site to not allow any changes to occur or anything happen to those files whilst they are being used in a "live" enviroment? Is that possible to do?
